about
cover of the phenomenal Against Me! song "Borne on the FM Waves of the Heart" originally written by Tom Gabel and released in 2007.
There is an intense beauty to this song and my goal with this cover was to take that moment and make it last forever. I interpreted it as a break-up song and made some lyrical modifications as such. My modifications are reflected in the included lyrics.
lyrics
No
(No)
It's not what we meant to say
We don't really love each other
How long before the summer's over?
How long before this distance becomes a chore?
I'm approaching with great trepidation
I hope you'll understand
Before you speak
Think about what you're trying to say
Who else is there to blame for miscommunication?
You're getting caught up in the excitement
You're making promises you can't keep
You need to leave all of your options open
Too much momentum
This room feels like it's going to explode
Too many angles
Too many factors to cover
Waiting for signal
We're searching for a network
We had to fight to stay in control of the situation
Too much momentum
This room feels like it's going to explode
Too many angles
Too many factors to cover
Waiting for a signal
Searching for a network
You had to fight to stay in control of the situation
And they fall apart so easily
And they fall apart so easily
Anxiety, anxiety
You give me no mercy
Grind my teeth smooth and flat
And in my sleep.
We pulled the shades to calm us down
And we rotted in the dark
Just trying to stay in control of the situation
Hope you understand
Fall apart so easily
They fall apart so easily
Too much momentum
This room feels like it's going to explode.
Too many angles
Too many factors to cover
Waiting for a signal
You're searching for a network
You had to fight to stay in control
You had to fight to stay in control of the situation
No you don't have to fight to stay in control of the situation
I hope you'll understand
I hope you'll understand
I hope you'll understand
I hope you'll understand
